Jewish Legion Museum ('Bet Hagdudim')

This museum was established by veterans of the British army's Jewish battalions. These veterans founded Moshav Avihayil, near Netanya, and the museum depicts their struggle to form the Jewish battalions, which eventually influenced the development of the Israeli military. The Jewish Legion dates back to the early 1900s, and more than 10,000 people were members. On display are photographs, documents, flags, and such items as a life-size model of a mule and a soldier.
